2nd Annual “Show off Your Doggie” Event

The Second Annual “Show Off Your Doggie” Event will be held at the Johnson City Elks Lodge at 4212 Watson Blvd. Johnson City, NY. on Saturday, June 1, 2013. Sign in at 12:00 – Judging starts at 12:30.

■All doggies are welcome…papers or not! They can strut their stuff in a Westminster like show!

■$5.00 Fee to enter your Dog. All proceeds to benefit The Humane Society. Proof of Rabies Vaccination is required.

■Prizes will be awarded to doggie participants by Local Celebrity Judges.

There will also be silent basket auctions, raffles, a bake sale and a JC Chicken BBQ beginning at Noon!

Claws & Paws Golf Tournament

The Humane Society’s 4^th Annual Golf Tournament will be held on Sunday, May 19^th at Genegantslet Golf Course. There will be a 1:00 pm Shot Gun start, dinner will be held at approximately 5:00 pm. We will also be hosting 50/50 raffles, basket raffles, and more.

The fee is $300 for a four-person team and includes 18 holes of golf, riding cart, gift bag, dinner, and eligibility to win prizes! Tee hole sponsorship signs are available for $100.

2013 Duck Derby!

SAVE THE DATE – OUR 2013 DUCK DERBY WILL BE SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 7th!

The Humane Society will be hosting its Third Annual Duck Derby on Saturday, September 7^th, 2013 from 12:00 – 4:00 PM. The event will be held on the Chenango River behind the Holiday Inn Arena in downtown Binghamton.

At approximately 3:00 PM at least 10,000 rubber ducks will be dropped off the Court Street Bridge and race down the river competing for cash prizes. First place prize is $3,500 and there is a chance someone can win $1,000,000!

Starting at 12:00 there will be music, food, crafts, games, and vendor booths. In addition, some of The Humane Society’s adoptable animals will be onsite for meet and greets.

We hope you’ll be able to join us… It will be Ducky!

The Humane Society’s Annual Rummage Sale will be held on Saturday, April 20^th from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. The sale will be held at The American Legion Post 80 at 76 Main Street in Binghamton. Donations for the sale can be dropped off Friday, April 19^th from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm at The American Legion. No books or clothing please.

We are hosting a Can & Bottle drive contest from February 5th – 9th. By dropping off a bag of cans & bottles during our opened hours (Tues.-Fri. 12PM-5PM & Sat. 11AM-4PM) you can enter to win a $20 Gift Card to Target! The winner will be drawn on Monday, Feb. 11th.

Cans and bottles are collected year round as an on-going fundraiser for the shelter. However, the contest will run only run Feb. 5th – 9th

Wag, Walk & Run – 5K Run/Walk

It is with great excitement that we announce our flagship Wag, Walk & Run for The Humane Society! This event is a 5K Run/Walk to benefit The Broome County Humane Society. Wag, Walk & Run will be held Saturday, June 8th at Otsiningo Park. The run will begin at 9:00 AM with the walk starting shortly after. Registration opens at 8:00 AM.

We invite all walkers to bring along your furry friends to help you support the home-less animals at The Humane Society. Dogs can be registered to walk for no extra fee. Due to safety reasons, dogs are not allowed to enter into the run portion of the race. In order to have your pet participate in this event, please bring proof of rabies to the event or submit a copy with pre-registration. All pre-registered dogs will receive a “doggy bag” at the race.

Join us after the race for refreshments and meet some of The Humane Society’s adoptable animals. It will be a fun day for all!
