Helping Hands Club & The Cutest Pet Photo Contest

As 2011 comes to a close, we at The Humane Society would like to extend our heartfelt thanks and gratitude to our community for the support you have shown us this past year.

This year proved to be even more challenging than previous years. The flood in September impacted many of our friends, families, co-workers and small businesses. Our shelter was no exception. All of our animals had to be evacuated. Thanks to the efforts of our staff and volunteers all animals were safely relocated.

We received an outpour of donations, supplies and offers of help.  Because of this, you the community have made it possible for us to continue our work to help abused & neglected animals, to provide food, shelter and medication to those animals in need and to find new, forever homes for each and every one of them.

MEIER SUPPLY HELPS WITH FLOOD RELIEF

Meier Supply is a continued supporter of The Humane Society and most recently donated a furnace to help us recover from the flood.  Thank you Meier’s for helping us and for keeping the dogs and cats warm!

Nancy helped to promote the Vote for a Shelter campaign through The Animal Rescue Site.  Nancy’s efforts helped put The Humane Society at the number four shelter in New York State!  Thanks again Nancy!

Duck Derby

Thank you to all of our community members who helped to support our First Annual Humane Society Duck Derby.

During the Derby, we were challenged with some “run away” ducks and we were amazed at the many spectators who literally “jumped in” and help us to corral them up.  Due to everyone’s quick thinking and helpfulness, we were able to capture the majority!

A special thank you goes out to the kind staff at the Holiday Inn for being a very generous host for our event.  In addition, thank you to our many vendors, and volunteers who each played a critical role in helping to make the Duck Derby a success and fun filled day for all.
