The Broome County Humane Society & Relief Association has been operating since the late 1800’s. Our mission has become increasingly difficult as the number of animals in need rises annually. Without the proper resources and space, we simply do not have the capability to meet the growing demand for our services. A new facility will allow us to expand to meet more of the needs of this important population.
The Humane Society has been operating in the same location for over 70 years. With our animal intake growing an average of 10% each year, this facility will help us save more animals. We will increase our capacity and enrichment of the animals by adding more indoor and outdoor kennel space, play yards for the dogs, as well as expanded and improved feline housing. The Humane Society will also be implementing new services, such as a low cost spay neuter program, to help with the challenges faced by owners and animals alike.
Our Capital Campaign Goal is $1.2 million to develop a new Shelter for the abused, abandoned and unwanted animals in our community.
